Estero Medical Academy

The Academy of Health and Medical Professions at Estero High School is a 3 year Certified Nursing Assistant program. Upon completion of the curriculum the student is fully qualified to sit for the Florida State Certified Nursing Assistant exam.The clinical experiences in the senior year include allied health rotations within the community. Dental Health, Veterinary Medicine, Physical Therapy, Emergency Medical Services, Radiology and other health care careers are explored. These clinical experiences allow the students to make informed career choices based on first hand knowledge by seeing what these medial professionals actually do in their work environments.

Wendy Henderson is a Registered Nurse whose professional experience includes pediatric nursing, oncology, hospice, case management, pharmaceutical sales and medical-surgical nursing. She has also served as a Lieutenant in the United States Naval Reserve where she was assigned to a Marine Corps Medical Battalion as a training officer. Her educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in nursing from the University of Missouri, and a Master's Degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida. She is married to Terry Henderson, a helicopter pilot and the Chief of Operations for Collier County's MedFlight Program. She has two grown children and four grandchildren.
