Founded in 2007, the Estero High School Grammar Society offers 11th and 12th grade students an opportunity to earn service learning hours through cross-age mentoring in English grammar structure.
Members are currently involved in an action research project, teaching grammar structure and mechanics to selected 9th grade students through the use of multimedia presentation. Students will share their findings in hopes of finding new and exciting cross-age and peer-to-peer mentoring strategies within the areas of English grammar and composition.
Nikki Stewart Bio:
Hello,
I’m Nikki Stewart. I currently teach English I and English IV at Estero High. I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia, but lived in Alabama for many years (Roll Tide!). I have raised five children and have five beautiful grandchildren (I definitely know about kids). I have been in southwest Florida for almost eight years, and love the area. I have recently completed my masters at Florida Gulf Coast University, and plan to return to school in the fall of 2008 to continue my education. Obviously, I love to learn, and hope to bring my passion into the classroom each and everyday.
