The Florida Future Educators of America is an organization that allows students interested in a teaching career to visit elementary schools. They learn about the different aspects involved in the teaching profession. This is called Project Teach. The students will visit the schools for half a day, on one of the last Wednesdays of every month. Students are encouraged to aide the teacher in classroom duties, interact with the children, and do whatever else may be required. This should be a positive learning experience. The dates for Project Teach are: TBA
In addition, the Estero High School students are required to participate in a program called Adopt-A-Teacher. Each month they are required to work with a teacher in Estero High School after school. They must work for a total of 5 hours a month. The purpose is to assist the teacher in their everyday duties. They can grade papers (not tests), create bulletin boards, run in-school errands, and learn about being a teacher.
To be eligible for membership, each student must be recommended by three teachers and have a 2.5 or above cumulative grade point average.. Our meeting dates are: TBA
