What is Family & Consumer Science?  Since its inception, Family & Consumer Science has been concerned with strengthening families, and teaching the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to be a successful family member and productive member of society.  Family and Consumer Science is an integrative approach to the relationships among individuals, families and communities and the environment in which they function.  The Family and Consumer Science curriculum is concerned with:

• The strength and vitality of families
• The development and use of personal, social and material resources to meet human needs
• The physical, psychosocial, economic and aesthetic wellbeing of individuals and families
• The role of individuals and families as consumers of goods and services
• The development of home and community environments that are supportive of individuals and families
• The design, use of and access to current and emerging technologies
• The critique, development and implementation of policies that support individuals, families and communities.

For classes we currently offer:  Child Development, Culinary Operations, Early Childhood Education, Life management Skills, Nutrition & Wellness, and Parenting Skills.
