CROP is Florida Gulf Coast University’s College Reach-out Program. It is an extra-curricular club designed to get students excited about the next step after high school. In this club, students will explore their interests and find colleges that match their goals; learn how to apply to college, including essay writing and application deadlines and procedures; become acclimated with financial aid terms and paperwork; and learn the importance of giving back to their neighborhood by becoming involved in their community and leading two service projects. In addition, students will learn how to become successful and organized learners in both in and out of the classroom.
All students are welcome, and if you are interested in joining CROP, see Ms. Kornuc, RM 407 for more details.
CROP Meeting Schedule:
CROP has had a very successful Fall Semester: Not only have we worked on college applications and scholarship opportunities, we have participated in two service projects for our school and community. The first was raising campaign donations for The United Way. The second was collecting new teddy bears and stuffed animals for a “Teddy Bear Run” that gave sick children who were hospitalized for the holidays a little. Cuddly surprise! We look
forward to continuing this pay-it-forward mentality and completing another service project in the spring.
