EHS Visual Art classes offer students an exhilarating art experience that concentrates on learning the skills necessary to gain expertise in a particular art discipline. Our Visual Art instructors believe passionately that the arts should be a part of every student’s education. All students are welcome in our program and learn to create art that is creative and reflective of their personalities. The EHS art curriculum allows advanced students the opportunity to reach their artistic potential. Our Visual Art students consistently win top awards in local, state and national art competition.
A close working relationship with the Art League of Bonita Springs provides numerous scholarship opportunities for our students and a professional gallery for our annual Student Art Showcase in May.
Drawing/Painting courses are designed to teach the fundamentals and techniques of drawing and painting. Production of artwork that interprets ideas, feelings and personal experiences is emphasized.
Ceramics/Pottery courses are designed to teach the fundamentals of forming clay by hand with the potters wheel being introduced in the advanced classes. Students gain confidence in working with clay by creating functional and sculptural works of art.
Portfolio I and II classes are designed for advanced visual art students who choose an area of concentration and provide and individualized studio experience for each student.
