Teacher recommendation
The purpose of this course is to develop the student’s ability to recognize and understand the materials and the processes in any music that is heard or read in score.
Band I-IV

The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop consistently proficient technical skills on wind instruments through the refinement and performance of high school band literature. Emphasis will be placed on the development of skills in interpretation of notation and expressive markings, individual and ensemble performance, critical listening, and aesthetic response.
Chorus I-IV

The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop intermediate-level individual and ensemble skills in choral performance through preparation of varied high school literature. Emphasis will be placed on healthy and expressive singing, accurate interpretation of notation, and development of critical and aesthetic response to music.
Eurhythmics I-II

The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop basic skills in creating, performing, and evaluating choreographed performances as an independent ensemble and in cooperation with the marching band. Emphasis is placed on dance, equipment manipulation, precision, and the relationship between music and dance.
*Marching Band
Prerequisite: Member of Wind Ensemble, Eurhythmics or Percussion

The Wildcat Marching Band performs at home and away football games and many local and national parades. The Marching Band is not a separate course offering. This ensemble consists of members of the Wind Ensemble, Eurhythmics and Percussion classes. Attendance is required at a pre-school camp and at scheduled after-school rehearsals and performances.

The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop proficient skills in jazz performance through knowledge of styles and performance techniques of varied jazz and contemporary literature.
